Historic Alameda Neighborhood

Leafy, Green Landscape with Fantastic Views of the City

We’ll explore the history and architecture of this elegant early 20th century streetcar neighborhood beginning on Sandy Boulevard and continuing up to and along the Alameda Ridge.

Formed by the legendary Missoula Floods, the Alameda Ridge became one of the popular NE Portland neighborhoods for prosperous Portlanders who wanted to be close-in to downtown and still surrounded by a leafy, green landscape with fantastic views of the city to the south and west.
