The Ups and Downs of a Streetcar Era Neighborhood
The Woodlawn neighborhood, situated in the heart of NE Portland, is a Streetcar Era neighborhood that has seen ups and downs over the past 100 years.
Today, the commercial blocks surrounding the Dekum Triangle are experiencing a renaissance similar to several other NE Portland districts. A sparkplug for the revival is the Firehouse Restaurant, located in the center of the Dekum Triangle (see photo below.)
