Historic Willamette Heights Walking Tour

Willamette Heights is a classic Portland early 20th century “streetcar neighborhood” situated in the far northwest corner of the city. This prestigious, out-of-the way residential enclave owes its growth to clever real estate developers who exploited the proximity of the 1905 Lewis and Clark Exposition located just below. We’ll see some fine Arts and Crafts homes, designed by the city’s leading architects.
The tour starts at a private home designed by prolific Portland architect Emil Schacht. (see directions below)
Be prepared for a rather strenuous 1 1/2 hour, two mile walk through this charming neighborhood that is a residential gateway to Forest Park.
