Walking Tour of Historic Laurelhurst

An Architecturally Distinctive Neighborhood

Laurelhurst is one of the most architecturally distinctive neighborhoods in Portland. With beginnings as a planned “streetcar neighborhood”, this area has a high concentration of early 20th century Arts and Crafts influenced residences.  It also features some grand Colonial Revivals.

We’ll see several landmark residences, including the Mediterranean Revival Markham House.  It was threatened with demolition and is now restored and expanded.

We’ll walk about 1 mile through undulating urban terrain in the heart of this captivating neighborhood.
